From On the River

Jump to: navigation, search

The River Water Samples assignment is about gathering water samples from the Grand River and documenting them. The jars of water, although similar at first glace, will each contain different levels of algae, particles, sediment, etc. according to their origin. Use a clear jar. Fill it up. Hold it up against the sky to get lots of light shining through.

The river is constantly admired as a whole. In a singular context The Grand is rich with a variety meanings, but when a small portion is taken out for examination – the meaning, although changed, continues to remain strong (and possibly even grows).

How to make a page for a River Water Samples:

Click the link above. It will ask you to name the page you want to create. Type in a very brief description of where you took your water sample (its only one sample per page.) Ex. “Water Sample from the East Side at Leonard” After typing in a name, it will bring you to an edit content page where you can upload a main photo for you your sample, type a description of the location, and upload more images. To mark a map location, type in "Grand Rapids" and search for your area. Changing the view to 'satellite' also helps to see landmarks that the other map does not show.
