Dump Buddy highlights the potential frustrations and tensions between developers / gentrifiers in the west side area with residents. The character acts as a sort of vigilante whose goal is to make the lives of these people a little more difficult on behalf of the current residents. The goal of this is to bring people together around a similar narrative around feelings of frustration, potentially encourage these things to actually take place in real life, laugh together, and share these stories.
The Dump Buddy comic strips were installed inside or adjacent to the bathrooms of Civic Studio during the show Liminal Dissonance.
